The d2 Content Pro version will be published soon. We are testing the beta version right now, the different profiles work great already and the forms are also loading correctly.
The new version of d2 Content will allow you the setup different profiles for your usergroups. When you open an article the edit form will show according to your usergroup.
For news you could setup a form just with

- created date
- intro image
For full text you could setup an optimized SEO form with

- article text
- created date
- meta description
- read more text
- robots
- intro image
- intro image alt-text
Of course Joomla custom fields and third party extensions that add tabs to the article form will work out of the box.
