d2 Profiles discontinuation

Dear d2 Profiles user,

At the beginning of a new year, it’s time to make plans and predictions for the year ahead. We looked at our d2 Profiles extension and to the complexity that it brings. For the advanced features we had to override parts of the Joomla core with plugins.

We also realized that for our future ideas this gets too complicated to maintain as an extension. At the moment the time investment required to further develop d2 Profiles is not viable. Therefore we decided to halt the development of our extension. However, we will continue support for d2 Profiles for Joomla 4.x. Just no new features.

We know that the functionality of d2 Profiles makes Joomla much more user friendly. We would love to see this functionality to be in the Joomla core. Therefore we’ve contacted some people in the Joomla community to see if this functionality would be great as a core feature. We will keep you updated about the future status.
